Three Of...
Drew became interested in music and began playing guitar at the age of 7. His first guitar, a Stella Harmony met a tragic end at the bottom of a flight of stairs when it cushioned Drew’s fall after he tripped. Drew began playing in bands in high school. His first band “Sentinel of the 60’s” came in 2nd place in a Battle of the Bands competition. During college, Drew earned his spending money playing folk music as a street musician in Boston. In addition to making enough to pay for weekly expenses, he always had plenty of quarters for the washing machine! During college and medical school, Drew wrote and recorded several songs at his basement home recording studio that he dubbed “Neutron Sound.” In April 2007, Drew hooked up with Jose Valdes and John Prink at Red House Studios in Walnut Creek. Jose (Bass) and John (Drums) had met earlier and were working on some of the original tunes that Jose had written. They needed a guitarist for the work to progress. Drew connected with Jose and John and the energy was immediate. Thus the band “Three Of...” was formed. The trio would leave each practice session with one or two new original songs in their repertoire. |
![]() Playing a mix of alternative/ska original songs combined with covers tunes from the Clash, Rolling Stones and Buddy Holly, “Three Of” began performing public shows in July 2007.
In November 2007 the band recorded a 4 song demo CD which has been for sale at their shows. In early 2009 John quit the band to pursue other musical interests. Jose and Drew found Wes Morse, a drummer with a jazz/funk background to fill in the space in the rear of the stage. With the addition of Wes, the band's new work took on a more jazzy, melodic feel. Think DMB meets Goo Goo Dolls. The band continues to create new music and play the occasional show throughout the San Francisco Bay Area.
